MacCaLM Pre-Conference and Welcome Event
We are delighted to announce that Professor Mark Gertler of NYU is the invited guest speaker at our conference pre-event hosted by MacCaLM and the Bank of England marking the beginning of what we hope will be a successful SED Conference.
Those registered for the SED conference are invited to attend his presentation in G.03, 50 George Square at 16:00. Refreshments will be served from 15:15.
The talk will be followed by the SED Welcome Reception from 18.00 at the City Chambers, located on the historic Edinburgh Royal Mile. Conference check in and packs will also be available at this venue.

Cocktail Reception – Dynamic Earth
Enjoy a whisky tasting, refreshments and finger buffet at Edinburgh’s Dynamic Earth, a 5 star visitor experience which invites you to take a journey through time to witness the story of planet Earth. In addition to catching up and meeting fellow conference delegates you are free to wander through a series of interactive exhibits.

Gala Dinner – Assembly Rooms
We have the pleasure of inviting you to a dinner in one of the capital’s most impressive Georgian venues. For more than two centuries this timeless and elegant venue has hosted both monarchy and celebrity royalty, played its part in two world wars and celebrated artistic excellence. In 2011 an 18 month refurbishment began to restore the venue to its original splendour. The conference dinner will take place in the impressive Ballroom featuring three crystal chandeliers and giant gilt mirrors, and the grand Music Hall. After dinner we’ve got a surprise for you and kilts are optional!
